How it works
1
Set up child profile
Add your child once — name and birth year — and reuse across all sessions.
2
Pick occasion & question set
Choose the age-appropriate question set: Toddler (age 2–4), Classic (5–11), or Tween+ (12+). Or build your own custom set.
3
Record answers
Each question appears one at a time. Read it aloud, let your child answer, then stop. Preview and re-record as many times as you need.
4
Compare years & back up
After a second session, use Compare to hear the same question answered at different ages side-by-side. Download the ZIP to iCloud or Google Drive.

Recordings are saved in your browser's IndexedDB. The ZIP download creates a permanent backup. No account, no upload, ever.

Frequently asked questions
Completely private. The browser's MediaRecorder API captures audio locally, and recordings are stored in IndexedDB — a database that lives entirely on your device. Zero bytes are ever sent to a server. This page works offline once loaded. If you clear your browser data, recordings will be deleted, which is why downloading the ZIP backup after every session is strongly recommended.
Recordings are saved as WebM (audio/webm with Opus codec), the native format of browser's MediaRecorder. WebM plays natively in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. On Apple devices (Safari, iPhone, iPad), open the file in VLC (free) or convert to MP3 using Audacity or HandBrake — both free. ZIP filenames follow the pattern q01_lily_age5_school_2025.webm so every clip is self-describing and easy to sort.
Yes — add each child as a separate profile. Each session is stored with the child's name, age, occasion, and year, so the history view clearly separates "Lily, age 5 — First Day of School 2025" from "Noah, age 8 — Birthday 2025". All sessions coexist in the same browser storage. The filter chips in the History view let you quickly show only one child's sessions.
There are three built-in sets: Toddler (ages 2–4, 12 simple questions like "What's your favorite food?" and "What is your name?"), Classic (ages 5–11, 20 questions covering favorites, friendships, aspirations, and reflections), and Tween+ (ages 12+, 20 deeper questions about identity, goals, values, and the year's highlights). You can also build a Custom set with up to 30 questions of your own. The same set is used every year so you get true year-over-year comparisons.
The ZIP download is your permanent backup. After each session, download the ZIP and save it to iCloud Drive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or a USB drive. The in-browser history is convenient for replaying and comparing, but it should be treated as a cache — your ZIP archive is the real long-term record. Future-you, playing these at your child's graduation, will be glad you downloaded every one.
