- How many hiding spots can I use?
- There is no hard limit — the generator works for 2 spots or 20 spots. For young kids (under 5) we recommend 4–6 clues so the hunt stays exciting without becoming exhausting. For school-age kids, 8–12 clues makes for a satisfying adventure that lasts 15–25 minutes.
- What if my location isn't in the list — will it still generate a clue?
- Yes. The generator recognises dozens of common household and outdoor spots (fridge, sofa, oven, mailbox, bathtub, etc.). For any location it doesn't recognise by name, it falls back to a smart template riddle that incorporates the exact words you typed. The clue will still rhyme and read naturally.
- Do the clues rhyme at every difficulty level?
- Easy clues use simple two-line rhyming couplets with direct, obvious descriptions — perfect for emerging readers. Medium clues add a metaphor or playful misdirection while keeping the answer guessable. Hard clues use wordplay, riddle structure, and indirect imagery that requires more lateral thinking. All three levels produce true rhyming verse, not just prose hints.
- Can I edit the clues before printing?
- Yes — after generating, click any clue card in the preview to edit its text directly. Your edits are reflected in the PDF when you download. This lets you personalise clues with the child's name, an inside joke, or a local detail ("Grandma always keeps her sewing box…").
- Does this tool work offline or send my data anywhere?
- Everything runs entirely in your browser — no data is sent to any server. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the internet and the generator and PDF download will still work. The PDF is built on your device using the open-source pdf-lib library.
