How it works

Add each reptile once (name, species, birth date), then tap Log Event after every feeding, shed, or weigh-in. The dashboard shows:

All data is saved in browser localStorage — nothing leaves your device. Use Export CSV to download a full log you can open in Excel or Google Sheets, or keep as a backup.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I feed my ball python?
Juvenile ball pythons (under 1 year) typically eat every 5–7 days; adults eat every 7–14 days. Body condition is the real guide — a healthy ball python should have a triangular cross-section when viewed from above, not overly rounded or bony. This tracker alerts you at 7 days so you can decide whether it is time to offer a meal based on your individual snake's schedule.
What does an incomplete shed mean, and what should I do?
An incomplete (or "retained") shed happens when humidity was too low during the shed cycle. Retained eye caps are the most dangerous — if you see cloudy caps after the shed, soak the animal in lukewarm water for 20–30 minutes and try gentle assistance with a damp cotton swab. Log the shed as "Incomplete" here so you know to watch for it next cycle. The tracker highlights sheds overdue by more than 60 days in amber to prompt a husbandry check.
Why track weight in grams rather than ounces?
Grams give finer resolution — a 300 g leopard gecko's food items weigh 2–4 g, which is easy to track as 1–2 % body weight. You can log in any unit you prefer (g, kg, oz, lb) and the tracker stores and displays it as entered. The weight chart always plots your logged values so trends are immediately visible over weeks and months.
Will I lose my data if I clear my browser or switch devices?
Data lives in this browser's localStorage, so clearing site data or switching to another browser or device will not carry it over. Use the Export CSV button regularly to keep a backup. To move data to another device, export the CSV, then use the same exported file as your offline record — re-import is not yet supported, but your CSV contains every event in a format readable by any spreadsheet app.
Can I track multiple species at once?
Yes — add as many reptiles as you like. Each has its own care dashboard and event log. The tool works for ball pythons, corn snakes, leopard geckos, crested geckos, bearded dragons, blue-tongued skinks, chameleons, and any other species you keep. Just enter the species name when adding the animal.
