Child Height Growth Chart Maker

Enter your child's height measurements to generate a tree-ring visualization — each ring represents one year of growth, with the radius proportional to height. Download the chart as a PNG to print or share.

Tip: paste a two-column CSV (date, height) exported from any spreadsheet. Extra columns are ignored.

How it works

The chart draws concentric rings like the cross-section of a tree trunk. Each ring corresponds to one calendar year band derived from your measurements.

Ring radius = height The outer edge of each ring is drawn at a radius proportional to the child's height at that measurement — so taller = larger ring.
Year bands Measurements are grouped into age-year buckets (year 1, year 2 …). The latest height in each bucket defines that ring's radius.
Color coding Each year gets a unique warm-to-cool color so you can instantly see progress at a glance. Labels show the age and height.
Predicted height Based on the average annual growth rate across all recorded years, the tool projects an adult height at age 18.

Frequently asked questions

How many measurements do I need?
You need at least two measurements on different dates to generate a chart. The more measurements you add, the richer the ring detail and the more accurate the growth summary. Annual measurements (e.g. on the child's birthday) work perfectly for a clean ring-per-year chart, but you can add as many or as few as you like — the tool picks the latest reading per year-band automatically.
What format should I use for dates and heights?
Use ISO date format YYYY-MM-DD (e.g. 2023-06-15) and a decimal number for the height, one per line separated by a comma. You can also paste directly from a two-column spreadsheet or CSV file — the first column must be the date and the second column the height in the unit you selected (cm or inches). Extra columns after the second are ignored. The "Load demo data" button shows you the exact format.
How is the predicted adult height calculated?
The tool calculates the average annual growth rate (cm/year or in/year) from all your recorded measurements by dividing the total height gain by the total time span in years. It then extrapolates that rate forward until age 18 — a commonly used reference age for adult height. This is a simple linear projection for illustrative purposes only and is not a medical prediction. Actual adult height depends on genetics, nutrition, puberty timing, and many other factors. For a medical assessment, consult your child's pediatrician.
