How it works

1
Upload the paper

Drop a PDF or photo (JPG/PNG) of the student's answer sheet. Multi-page PDFs are supported — each page renders separately.

2
Annotate with red pen

Draw freehand corrections directly on the canvas. Switch to text labels for written comments, or use the tick/cross stamps for quick feedback marks.

3
Enter per-question scores

Add questions in the sidebar and type the marks earned and max marks per question. The total score auto-updates instantly as you type.

4
Stamp & download

Click "Stamp Score" to burn the running total onto the current page. Then export the full annotated PDF to your device — nothing leaves your browser.

Score totalling formula: Total earned ÷ Total max × 100% — e.g. Q1 8/10 + Q2 6/10 + Q3 9/10 = 23/30 = 76.7%.

Frequently asked questions

Is student data sent to any server?
No. Everything — PDF rendering, annotation, score calculation, and PDF export — happens entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. No file is ever transmitted over the network, so you can safely mark sensitive student work without any privacy concerns. Internet is only needed to load the page itself.
What file types can I upload?
PDF files (single or multi-page) and images in JPG, PNG, or WEBP format. For photos of handwritten papers taken on a phone, simply choose the image file. Each page of a PDF is rendered at high resolution and can be annotated independently before the whole document is exported as one graded PDF.
How do I correct a mistake in my annotation?
Use the "Undo" button to remove the last annotation stroke or object one step at a time. You can also switch to the Select/Move tool to click on any annotation and delete it with the Delete key. "Clear Page" removes all annotations from the current page if you want to start fresh — it does not affect other pages.
Can I annotate each page of a multi-page PDF separately?
Yes. Use the page navigation arrows to move between pages. Each page has its own independent annotation layer. When you export, all pages are combined into a single output PDF with their respective annotations and score stamps burned in.
What does the Score Stamp show?
Clicking "Stamp Score" adds a clear, bold total score box to the top-right corner of the current page (e.g. "Score: 23 / 30 — 76.7%"). This stamp is baked into the canvas layer and will appear in the exported PDF. You can stamp the score on any page — typically the first or last page of the paper.
