How it works

A canned response pairs a memorable shortcut key (like refund or ty-en) with the full message body you'd otherwise retype every time.

  1. Add a template — type a shortcut key, an optional title, and the full message body, then click Save Template.
  2. Search — type part of any shortcut key or title into the search bar. The list filters in real-time.
  3. Copy in one click — hit Copy on any template. The full body is now on your clipboard, ready to paste.
  4. Backup — use Export JSON to save all templates to a file, and Import JSON to restore or share them.

Everything is stored in your browser's localStorage. No account, no server — your templates stay private and work offline.

Frequently asked questions

What is a canned response, and why use one?
A canned response is a pre-written reply you save once and reuse many times. Support agents, sales teams, and solo founders use them to answer repetitive emails faster and more consistently — the same polished phrasing every time, without retyping. Studies on support workflows show that templated first replies reduce average handle time by 20–40 % while keeping tone uniform across a team.
How do I use shortcut keys effectively?
Pick a short, memorable code that represents the scenario: refund-en for an English refund reply, onboard for new-user welcome, bug-ack for bug acknowledgment. A consistent naming convention (topic-language or topic-variant) makes searching fast even with dozens of templates saved.
Can I use placeholders like {{name}} in the template?
Yes. You can write anything you like in the body — including {{name}}, {{order_id}}, or any placeholder format you prefer. After copying the template, swap out the placeholders in your email client or support tool before sending. This builder keeps the template exactly as you wrote it.
Where are my templates stored? Are they safe?
All data is saved to your browser's localStorage on your own device. Nothing is sent to any server. Clearing your browser's site data will erase them, so use the Export JSON button regularly to keep a backup. The exported file can also be imported on another device or browser.
How do I move my templates to a new computer?
Click Export JSON on your current browser to download a .json file containing all your templates. On the new computer, open this tool, click Import JSON, and select that file. Your full library is restored instantly. The JSON format is plain text, so you can also open it in any editor to inspect or hand-edit templates.
